PEDORTHICS (ped-or’thiks) is the design, manufacture, modification and fit of footwear, including foot orthoses, to alleviate foot problems caused by disease, overuse, congenital defect or injury.
Unique Feet has earned the status of being an accredited facility by the American Board for Certification of Orthotics, Prosthetics and Pedorthics (http://www.abcop.com/). Under the ABC guidelines, an accredited facility must adhere to strict regulations that will be of benefit to the needs of the patient.

WHAT IS A BOARD-CERTIFIED PEDORTHIST?
A pedorthist is educated in foot anatomy and pathology, biomechanics, shoe construction and modification, foot orthoses fabrication and materials, footwear fitting and patient/practice management.
A board-certified pedorthist has officially met the requirements required by the ABC governing board and is bound by the ABC code of professional ethics. A pedorthist has the knowledge and tools to transform a shoe into comprehensive therapy.
